Art: every set of rules suitable for directing a human activity. Plato spoke in this sense and did not establish a distinction between art and science. Art is that of reasoning. Art is philosophy itself, poetry, politics and war, medicine. Art is respect and justice. This way, every human activity is art. Still today, art is defined as a kind of ordinary activity, but cultured use tends to privilege its meaning of fine Art choosing the term "technique" for everything involving the structure of the rules. The Canale Group brings forward the thought of global art in both manifestations, that of technique with organised and advanced plants and technologies, that of fine Art with the foundation of Canale Arte Edizioni, its editorial choices and work to support talented young people. Established in 1995, Canale Arte Edizione develops its catalogue in two main sections, visual arts and literature.
In the artistic field extensive space is given both to early-century avant-gardism and to young people, with the development of important catalogues. Modigliani, a complex, important project, made in collaboration with Christian Parisot. Biographies, portraits, testimonies, show catalogues; an exacting research and cataloguing work organised in several volumes and culminated in an encyclopaedic CD Rom which brings together a collection of over 700 pictures, sketches, drawings and paintings by the master. And then Tano Festa, Keiko Nakajima, Juoh, Shunji Ohmura, Nicus Lucą, without forgetting celebrative volumes dedicated to important personalities in the artistic field like Erik Larsen and his 90 years volume. Commitment to supporting talented young people was brought to fruition in the artistic field in the development of the catalogues for the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Award and in the literary field in the development of I Racconti della Buona Notte, a collection of writings by young students of the
